Lynda, 75, was promoting her new thriller Murder Mile – the fourth book to follow policewoman Jane Tennison, made famous in Prime Suspect.

However, viewers were immediately taken by Lynda’s enthusiasm, which saw her playfully brag about her other hit novels and talk about her characters in their own funny voices.

With the hosts unable to contain their laughter, Phil asked: “Do you write the books in these voices too?”, causing Lynda to giggle herself.

Not stopping there, the screenwriter later acted out her past research trip to a Russian morgue on the sofa.
