John Gosden has assembled a formidable team of juveniles that includes Calyx, Too Darn Hot and Beatboxer and it has allowed the trainer to take their time with King of Comedy who was very green during his maiden win.

Hugo Lascelles, racing manager to owner-breeder Lady Bamford, told Sun Racing: “He’s back in work now and in very good form, we’re very happy with him.

“He’s just been a bit backward and showing lots of immaturity. We’ve taken our time with him after Sandown and he’s grown nicely into his frame.
