Real Madrid were held for the second successive home game as they drew 1-1 with Levante at the Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane rested a number of his key players with his side in Champions League action in midweek.
But they started slowly as Ivi fired Levante into a 12th minute lead.
Real lost Karim Benzema to injury as Gareth Bale entered the fray before Lucas Vasquez levelled the scores.
Marcelo saw red late on for Real as they stuttered to another home draw.
Here are our complete player ratings.
Casilla 5 - Slow off his line for the goal and little else to do to redeem himself
Carvajal 5 - Also at fault for Levante's opener and seemed more intent on taking his frustration out on the referee than making amends
Ramos 7 - A constant threat in the opposition box, got assist for the goal and thrown up front in search of a winner
Nacho 6 - Another display which showed up Nacho as a solid servant but little more. The speed and height of Varane is needed back as soon as possible.
Marcelo 5 - Swapped positions constantly with Theo Hernandez throughout which affected his usual rhythm and then lost his head by seeing red late on.
Llorente 5 - Rare chance to impress with Casemiro left on the bench, but looked labored and far from the player that shone on loan for Alaves last season
Kroos 7 - One of the few first-team regulars to start and showed why with his class on the ball. Very unlucky not to also bet late winner with shot off the post in stoppage time.
Asensio 6 - After a blistering start to the season Asensio can be forgiven for one sub-standard performance and still showed the character to always demand the ball from more experienced teammates.
Theo Hernandez 6 - Use of two attacking left-backs didn't seem to benefit either as both Theo and Marcelo lacked the space they love to gallop into.
Benzema 5 - Injured early on exposing Madrid's lack of back-up for the Frenchman
Lucas Vazquez 6 - Got his goal, but didn't little else before being hooked.
Bale 5 - Thrown on as an auxiliary centre-forward, the Welshman offered an aerial threat but little else and missed two big chances to make himself Madrid's much-needed hero.
Isco 6 - Baffling decision to leave him on the bench whilst in the form of his life only confirmed but his impact in the last 20 minutes.
Kovacic 6 - Added some more urgency to the midfield late on, but what Madrid really needed was the guile of his international teammate Modric.
