Pogba is the highest paid footballer on the planet and takes home £290,000 a year

Earning £290,000 a week, you could be forgiven for thinking Manchester United star Paul Pogba isn't short of a bob or two.

But the 24-year-old player has taken more than three months to cough up £100 to pay a removal van.

Pogba - the highest paid footballer on the planet - would make that in under four minutes.

Removal man Kondi Moyo has revealed he wasn't been paid after he and a friend helped the footballer move into his multi-million pound mansion last year.

The footballer is already known to drive a hard bargain after knocking £600,000 off the asking price of his Cheshire home.

He paid £2.9m for the swanky five-bedroom home that was up for sale at £3.49million.

Pogba saved himself a fortnight's wages with the cut-price deal - but apparently couldn't find a £100 to pay Mr Moyo.

The removal man told The Sun: 'He might be the most expensive footballer on the planet but he played me like a fool.

'It was an honest morning's work and completed on the understanding we would be paid at the end of the job.'

The 44 year old has run Manchester-based removals firm Grey Panther for ten years.

He was asked to move boxes from storage to the star's home in Altrincham, Cheshire.

But he has had to chase him for payment.

He said: 'It's very disheartening. He's not exactly short of a few bob.'

His management said they had paid by bank transfer on several occasions and vowed to do so again. But yesterday Mr Moyo said it still had not appeared.

They offered to pay in cash instead.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba knocked £600,000 off the asking price of his new Cheshire mansion.

And this isn't the first time footballers have come under fire for not paying.

In 2010 former Cardiff City star Paul Quinn was ordering items on tick from his friend Ellen Kerr.

The cleaner claimed the footballer failed to pay-up even though he has promised to settle his bill on nine separate occasions.

Ms Kerr said she had been forced to take on more shifts in her job at a nursing home to cover the cash owed to catalogue firm Empire Stores.

Quinn, 31, bought goods including two £849 LCD TVs and a £900 treadmill and paid Ellen in instalments.

Ms Kerr said she had to pay the balance herself.
