Deborah John suffers horror injury crashing into hurdle at World Athletics Championships

Hurdler Deborah John was stretchered from the World Athletics Championships after a horror injury.

The Trinidad and Tobago star hit the fifth hurdle hard after her left leg appeared to buckle in the women’s 100 metres hurdles heats.

John lay motionless on the London Stadium track as medical staff rushed to help.

She was placed in a stretcher as a precaution and then wheeled out of the stadium and to hospital.

There has been no comment yet on her condition.

Last week John told the Trinidad Express of her delight at a late call-up into the tournament.
