Motorist ‘drink-driving’ on beach ‘scares children half to death’ while he streams whole thing on Facebook Live

A man appeared to be drinking while driving on a beach and streaming his antics on Facebook Live.

Ryan Stiles, 27, was arrested yesterday after the incident where he drove over chairs and umbrellas and almost hit beach goers, according to reports.

Witnesses reported children being “scared half to death” as a calm day out at the beach turned into chaos.

They said hundreds of lives were put in danger.

Clearwater Police said the first report of a ‘possible drunk driver’ came in at about 4.25pm and the man drove all the way from Clearwater to Caladesi Island.

According to the police, Stiles struck a vehicle and caused minor damage but luckily no one was hurt, ABC Action News reports.

Sirens and engine revs can be heard from his live stream as the man shouts “yeah, we’re live”.

He later screams something about “going down in history” and says “my transmission just went out guys, I’m going down. That’s it.”

The man, dressed in a white t-shirt with tattoos on his arm, then says “we’re going to drink up” before pouring a brown drink from a bottle into his mouth.

The car is then seen driving over the sand, knocking over sun loungers, as the man shouts “woowee,” “yeah” and “oh my God,” among many swear words.

Deputy Chief Donald Hall said: “We were very, extremely fortunate that we didn’t lose any officers, nor did we lose any civilians.”

Stiles was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee without a valid licence, IONTB.com reports.

He allegedly took his belt off and swung it around a holding cell, damaging a door’s window, after being taken in to the police station for questionning.
