There will be a shock dumping in Love Island this evening as the mask slips following Twitter challenge that rocks ‘solid’ couples

Love Island will be down one couple tonight as a happy pair are sent packing.

With one week left to go before the final , the couples may feel like they are all in the running for the £50,000 cash prize.

But for one pair, it is the end of the road as the group are summoned for a shock dumping on the hit ITV2 romance reality show .

Alex is alerted to the news when he gets a text: “Islanders please gather around the fire pit immediately.”

Then Montana reveals one pair will be sent home when she gets a text, reading: “Islanders, the public have been voting for their favourite couple. The couple with the fewest votes will be dumped from the island tonight.”

The current couples are Sam Gowland and Georgia Harrison , Mike Thalassitis and Tyla Carr , Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood , Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt, Marcel Somerville and Gaby Allen, Alex Beattie and Montana Brown , and Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies .

Earlier, relationships were rocked on the island after tweets from viewers exposed back stabbing friends and lovers with wandering eyes.

In scenes due to air tonight, those tuning in will see couples put to the test as they hear the thoughts of viewers that have been shared on social media.

The Islanders have to guess who tweets are about – and some of the comments from fans have exposed apparent betrayals.

For the challenge, the Islanders are split into two teams with Georgia and Sam hosting the game and reading tweets with Islanders’ names blanked out.

The first tweet is: “XXX and XXX are in one fake relationship, I’m not buying it one bit,” while another tweet reads: “Am I the only one who’s not convinced on XXX feelings for XXX? Seems so fake.”

The Islanders are shocked to hear the couple that the tweet is about is Gabby and Marcel – prompting the Scouse babe to lash out in the Beach Hut: “I’d deserve an Oscar if I was faking it. I know that me and Marcel are rock solid so think what you like love.”

Another tweet leaves Camilla defending herself when it is revealed she is the name blocked from the tweet: “XXX has cracked on with three different lads so far and yet people say she is an innocent girl…” – however she declines ever pretending to be “innocent” and says she moved on to Craig then Jamie after being left heartbroken by Jonny.

However the biggest upset of the night is caused by chart topping grime artist Stormzy who tweets: “XXX you’re too good for her mate.”

Chris finds out that Stormzy’s tweet is about him, suggesting he is too good for Olivia. Chris smirks at the result and Olivia gets angry at his reaction which causes a tiff.

However the tables are immediately turned when another tweet reveals Olivia had confessed she would sleep with Mike if Chris were never to find out about it.

Olivia – who on Sunday night’s highlights episode was seen letting down her guard and confessing her feelings for Chris – wailed of her tweet about Mike: “We were broken up and it was a joke.”

But Chris is incensed, and blasts in the Hut: “She is such a melt, that’s so muggy. Prior to that being read out, she’d lost her head that I laughed at a tweet… I have every right to be annoyed at that.”

In the garden, Olivia and Chris talk to each other following the reveal at the Tweet challenge. They get annoyed with each other and Olivia walks off.

Chris says as she walks away: “You’re an angel aren’t you, little princess.” Under his breath, he talks to himself saying Stormzy was right: “He’s right though isn’t he, I am too good for her, way too good.”

Tune in for all the action, drama, kissing, bitching, dumping, and highlights as Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
