Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Juventus ready to improve bid for Wojciech Szczesny
Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny remains a top target for Juventus, who aren’t willing to give up in their chase for him to be Gianluigi Buffon’s replacement just yet.
The Serie A champions are reportedly ready to up their bid for the Polish shot-stopper from the initial £4.4m (€5m) that was rejected by the Gunners.
La Gazzetta dello Sport are saying Juve are willing to increase their offer to £7m €8m) for the keeper who has impressed on loan at Roma.
Szczesny’s contract runs out in June 2018 but despite the short timeframe and the fact Arsene Wenger doesn’t seem to want him, the Gunners want more than £13m.
Arsenal continue negotiations for Lacazette
The French club have also not entered into discussions with the Gunners about a potential swap deal involving Olivier Giroud.
Lacazette, who fired 37 goals last season, has emerged as Arsene Wenger’s No.1 striking target this summer, with Arsenal having admitted defeat in their pursuit of Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe.
Wenger believes he has convinced Lacazette to move to the Emirates.
But Lyon are playing hardball, having seen the 26-year-old’s move to Atletico Madrid fall through earlier this summer.

Willock had been offered a new contract at Arsenal, but has instead signed a five-year deal at the Stadium of Light.

The youngster, whose only two appearances for the Gunners came in the EFL Cup last season, had grown frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities at the Emirates.
